daughter has this science project on why apples turn brown and on one of the subtitles which is "APPLICATION" which mean "how it relates to the real world". does anyone have an answer on how it apply's?

Well a apple as long as its connected to the tree is alive and growing but take the apple from the tree and the apple will live only for a while and soon shrivel and die, imagine the earth as long as there are trees and plants the earth is alive but take the trees away and the earth dies, it might take some time but just as the apple being taken from the tree the earth will die if all the trees are taken from it. Side note if you slice a apple and put it in vinegar with some water and salt it will keep it from rotting
