What are the advantages of parenthood?

Hi. I am a mother of 5. As you may know, there are many disadvantages of parenthood, the biggest giving up your life for your child. But, it is relatively short lived. You have to do so much for them when they are newborns, toddlers and young children. But when they begin to reach the age of 7 or 8 they start to become more independent. Before you know it, they are teaching you things. Kids can be so much fun as teens. And as young adults, you find yourself wondering what you would ever do with out them? With my children, from the moment I first held them I fell in love, and couldn't imagine my life with out them. They were such handfuls...I gave up so much sleep and other "adult" fun, but I wouldn't give up times I've had with my kids for the world. They bring a kind of fun that you don't realize exists until you've had a child. I've had two failed marriages, and raised my 5 children mostly by myself. But they gave me such purpose in life. When my husbands acted selfishly and rejected my love, I might have killed myself...if it weren't for the love from my kids. It's a wonderful bond. My older kids help take care of me. I never feel lonely. And my son with autism...well he is just the sweetest boy you'd ever meet. Yes, parenting is a tremendous amount of work, there is no way around that, but let me tell you, it's all worth it!
