What are your thoughts on 3D Printing?

It has a lot of potential, not only for recreational uses but also medical and other fields im sure. I hope to see the day we can 3d print organs for transplants and whatnot. Im more worried about the possibility of print weapons like knives and guns. Currently we dont have the technology to make a fully functional gun but I can guarantee it will be possible in the future and we must address it. I personally dont think we should be able to print weapons, thats my opinion, maybe knives but definitely not guns. Theres also the issue of harmful chemicals coming off of melted plastic, that really needs to be resolved as 3d printers become more ubiquitous.
