I've read they're shy. I've read shyness has nothing to do with it. I've read they're uncomfortable in most social situations. Would they be like to have sex? That seems line something they would be uncomfortable with.

The scale of introvert/extrovert is often misunderstood. The answer really lies in how one gains energy.
An extrovert, for example, gains energy from being around others. He or she or they can hang out with friends for hours and never want to stop. They don’t get tired from socializing.
An introvert, on the other hand, loses energy when being around others. That isn’t to say they don’t like hanging out with friends, or even that they’re shy. Introverts can be very outgoing and friendly. But after socializing for a bit, they will begin to feel “burnt out”. They will need some time alone to recover from socializing because it is tiring to them.
