What is the importance of research to a Pastor?

Responses (3)

Duh, he doesn't want to be embarrassed when people notice that he doesn't know what he is talking about?

It is significant that people choose a pastor based on wordiness, rather than actual knowledge. A lot of pastors don't know the first thing about the religion they claim to teach. (Although most have memorized a slogan that the denomination has adopted for that purpose.)

“Never has another man spoken like this.”—JOHN 7:46.
The Bible say this about Jesus, who set the example or pattern for all of us to follow.
When a pastor, or anyone who claims to lead the people to God teaches, shouldn't that teaching be according to what the Bible really says?

Many have their own personal beliefs, theories or concept of what they think the Bible says. Jesus, who was the greatest teacher who ever lived, taught his disciples very well. What teaching methods did Jesus use?

He taught with clarity, simplicity, and irrefutable logic. He skillfully used illustrations and questions. He adapted his teaching to those to whom he spoke, whether they were of high station or low.

The Bible is God's word. (2 Timothy 3:16, 17) says, "All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, so that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work."

This is what Jesus believed, taught, and died for, very simply put when doing research, they need to follow his example on how and what to teach. Instead most apply only part of what the Bible says, like (2 Timothy 4:3) "For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the wholesome teaching, but according to their own desires, they will surround themselves with teachers to have their ears tickled."

The importance of research not only to a pastor but to everyone is as is stated at;
(John 17:3) "This means everlasting life, their coming to know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ."
