You have not given enough information to indicate any particular answer. Some things require a modem and some some don't. Some applications require an expensive modem and some don't. You have not given any indication of which one you are talking about.

Hey good qiestion my friend. Im not sure what the solution is but i can give you some ideas. Maybe its more reliable, maybe the range can be expanded by the power of it, maybe the support you guy with it (i.e. if you ever need techsupport from the company). The warrenty you get with it, the brand name. Good luck in your search. Btw the questiom was fine and had enough information for me. Thanks!
