... person's death? My husband and I lived in a Senior Community when Katrina brought many to Houston. There was a Person above us, and behind us smoking heavy. I notified the management several times that it was bothering my Husband and I. My Husband was a Dialysis patient, Had Triple By-Pass Heart Surgery, Diabetic , and had Demenia. I was told by the Managaer and staff that there was no law prohibiting someone from smoking in their home. I call several places and it was confirmed. I then start making plans to move, but instead of an apartment we found the affordable program that helps low income purchase a Home. We thought we might run into the same problem again. So I let them know that I was certain of a date, but it should be a couple of months. The time came and I let them know that we would be moving that week. it was about a month to a month and a 1/2 earlier that my lease was up.
I clean the apartment and turned in the Keys and left. A Couple of months later, I was told that I never turned in the keys. I contacted them and told them I turned in the keys when I completed the cleaning. But they sent me a large balance which I think was unfair . I have not re-visited this balance because my son died a year later and I was not able to deal with some things for a while.
