I need to do research on a bible person by the name of Barnabas.
What can you tell me about him?
Who was he?
What was he known for?
Did he have any out standard traits?
So if you had to describe him to a person how would you sum up information about Barnabas:
Barnabas was a levite native for the island of Cyprus. He sold his fields and houses and gave the prive to the apostles for the advancement of the Christian work. He was given the name Joseph but the apostles surnamed him Barnabas meaning "Son of Comfort"
He was very warmhearted and genorous. He oftenly offered up himself and his material possessions willingly for the advancement of the Kingdom interest. So to put it simply he did anything for the advancement of the preaching work at his time. He was know for being a prophet and teacher in Antioch. You can read about this at Acts chapter 13 in the King James Bible. Barnabas and Paul had a very close association. You can read about that is Acts chapter 9. His main traits he had was love. And he really wanted the Word about God to be spread. At Acts chapter 15 it kind of ends mentioning him in the Bible. I found all these things off of JW.ORG.
