Why is YouTube going downhill?

I researched your question and this exact question has been asked or claimed every year since at least 2013. However, it's still here so one would have to assume it either is not or it's going at a lot lot slower pace than everyone thinks.

The current problem is demonetization. That is hitting the big vloggers in the pocket book big time. Youtube monitors everything and if anything is said or written or displayed that they think will upset one of their advertisers they either take it down or take away the ability to earn money for the vlogger. The more followers the vlogger has the bigger the financial loss.

A long-haul trucker said his next delivery was Slave Lake if I remember correctly. Youtube demonetized him the next day calling it racist. It took him 4 or 5 days to appeal their decision by showing such a place exists on a map. They accepted that and reversed their decision but they didn't also reverse the funds he lost for 6 days. He has 70,000 followers. The vloggers who have 8 million or more followers lose BIG bucks. They are not happy about that.
