their food is sold to them in wholesale basis from a manufacturer [in large quantities] but they sell their food to their customers in a retail basis.

Most companies who sell products work this way.

i think that mcdonalds sells on retail basis thats where the money is thats how they can keep the prices down when they sell to the public then the public gets the best prices retail is how they keep the prices down
