I was contacted of an unknown number about a car accident that happened in the last 36 months, I told them there was no accident I was aware of and he said my number would be removed from the database and I wouldn't be contacted again? What does this mean, I'm confused?

There is this statute of limitations. This refers to the period of time where the legal proceedings will be brought. As far as I know of, this time frame should be within two years.
