productive soil lasts longer ... normally for gardens/ fertile soil lasts long too but for onlt one or 2 plants max.

Fertile soil is the soil that pass all the conditions of soil like sufficient level of nutrients available , pH level , Structure and texture of the soil.
Productivity soil refers to the how much crops are yielding in your land.
If you have fertile soil, there by will get the better productivity.

This is because not all fertile soil is productive in reason fertile soil contain all the available nutrients but can not produce as expected
Productive soil may or may not have all the necessary nutrients but able to produce more as compare to some fertile soil
