Start the story off by introducing your main character, setting and the current situation.
Generally, a short story is made to be read in one session, so not too long.
Use a lot of descriptive, metaphoric type language. Keep straight to the point and make it interesting.
Start the story with introducing the main character, talking a little abt the setting, place, time and atmosphere.
Like you said, 'A short Fiction Story' shouldn't be too long.. keep it short and simple cuz if u're gonna drag it, it gets boring
Try doing some plot twists and most of all, dont forget to add at least one or two cliffhangers.
