I'm 15 a freshman in highschool. I've been really depressed lately and realize I want to do something with my life. I want to be a professional violinist. I've had some experience in grade school. 4-7th grade. I feel like I didn't learn enough. I still have my violin and I am willing to put 4+ hours into it everyday. I just don't know where to start. I feel like I can read all of the notes but I have trouble with the flats and sharps and I only know the first position and I can't do vibrato. I had to move schools and they don't have a music program. I am extremely depressed at this point because I feel like music is my passion and I need a teacher to help me. Maybe I should start paying for lessons??? It's going to take a while to actually get a teacher. I don't want to waste anymore time
Is it too late to become a professional violinist and get major in music?

It is not too late for you. For example, I am 17 junior in high school and still have no idea what I want to do. If you are willing to put 4+ hours into violin everyday then have a passion for it and I would follow it. As for lessons, I would start by looking on YouTube then go to paying for a teacher.
Good luck my friend, go follow your dreams;)
First off, its definitely not too late. Your still young and you have plenty of time to learn. I would suggest that you start by taking lessons from a teacher. I started teaching myself and when I got a real teacher she told me I was doing it all wrong. That made it even harder because I felt like I was starting from scratch, and had a hard time getting out of my old habits.
