I had a job interview on 8/5/14.
The hiring manager told me I got the job, and told me to expect a call from his VP that same evening with a job offer. (The VP is based out of CA, I’m in FL).
At the end of that week, I had a phone interview with the VP’s assistant, who said I would get a call by the following week with a final decision.
2 ½ weeks passed by, and I didn’t hear from anyone.
I emailed the assistant to the VP and politely inquired if a decision had been made. She emailed me that same day to tell me it had not. Then the hiring manager here in FL, called to apologize about the delay and said they were just figuring out the logistics as it is a new position that they are creating, and he reassured me that the job was mine.
Another 2 weeks go by, nothing. The VP from CA calls me to schedule a face-to-face interview, as she will be in the area.
The interview takes place and it all seems to go well. Again, she tells me “not to go anywhere” and that she will call me early next week to let me know what the next step will be as she has to meet with her CFO and let him know she has found the person she wants for this position.
It’s been 2 weeks, and I haven’t heard from anyone. Should I email? Should I just let it go?
I don’t want to seem desperate, but I find it so rude of them to say they’re going to call and they don’t.

Thanks!
