My earphones has an inverted surround sound. What should I do? What was the cause?

My earphones has a surround sound that is backwards. It's backwards and I can't stand it. Is there a way to fix the problem? My earphones has a hook and my earbuds says "Left" or "Right". Every time I used left, the sound goes to the right instead.
