I am a dance fitness instructor. I'd like to post my routines on YouTube in hopes to attract more followers. Here's the issue I'm having: Initially I wanted to only post songs/routines that cannot currently be found on YouTube. In my opinion that was the only way to prove these were my original dance moves. As you can imagine, that's hard to do. Everyone jumps at the chance to do a routine to a great dance fitness hit. And even if I posted a routine to a song that someone else has used, I've found that even routines I've completely made up myself with no help from YouTube are already posted on the site with similar moves as mine. (Not the entire routine but definite similarities) If I post my own routine and inadvertently have the same move as someone else, will people think I stole it? I suppose my larger concern is not what people think but the actual "stealing" of moves. I didn't, obviously, steal them but it could come across that way and I don't want to disrespect the individuals who already have routines out there. What are your suggestions? Should I stick to my original thought of making sure to only post routines that literally cannot be found on the internet? (yet) Or post my routines with confidence knowing, hey - we're all bound to use the same moves eventually. There's only so many effective dance fitness moves you can use! Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
