In a single phase system the field does not rotate, so when the armature is exactly opposed it can turn either way. The correction is to use a start winding so the field rotates in the desired direction.
Its a compatable motor single phase which was working perfectly, and now when connect the power source once rotate right and once rotate to the opposite direction .. the problem is in the starting winding or the capacitor? How can I fix?
