No audio when convert mpeg-2 file with ac3 audio file to .vob file?

Question

Hi, I am using Any Video Converter to convert a mp4 to mpeg-2 with ac3 file. I am using Windows 8, and I know you will need to pay if you want to play something in ac3 format. So, I don't really care since the media info show I have the audio in the mpeg-2 file.

After that, I use WinX DVD Author to convert it to .vob file, it show no audio bitrate at all in the list! I thought it was just the slightly problems about the list but after the file has been finished converted. It show no audio at all! I don't know what happen at all.

Two questions

1. Can the audio problems been fix? Who fault? Wins 8, Winx or AVC?
2. Can you play ac3 in Wins 8? Or can you play mpeg-2 in Wins 8 with SOUND in it?

Perhaps the sound data has been crashed during the conversion process. I don&rsquo;t know how does the Any Video converter work, but I&rsquo;m currently using a web tool that works quite nice on my computer. Maybe it will be workable for you as well. You can go to video grabber then choose &ldquo;convert video&rdquo;. It&rsquo;s capable of converting media files on webpage directly. And it&rsquo;s totally free.

1. AFAK, Winx offers a video converter that is able to convert MP4 into VOB directly. Why not use the Winx video converter to do it. 
2. Yes, I can play both file types in win8 without a problem.

Not sure whose fault. However, you can try a free media player - JoyoPlayer, to play your AC3 or MPEG-2 in Windows 8. It supports nearly all multimedia formats and can show media info in detail. I appreciate its Joyoshare Video Converter most, which converts files with no quality loss. It seems you may need it so don't miss this free Xmas gift. You can search to find it. Given that I am not skilled at tech, I can only share what I know.
