Are there any high school boarding schools in Japan? What do Japanese parents think of them if there are? Are there any elementary boarding schools in japan? If so, is it a popular thing?

There are very few boarding schools in Japan. Most students go to nearest elementary schools and junior high bcuz they are compulsory. After they enter university/college, some people live in dorms but still most of them live by theirselves.
