I got the wind knocked out of me and now my neck hurts really bad. Is there a reason for that?

Yes sudden blow causes jerk like to those sensitive nerves in face and neck.Cover complete face ears and neck to avoid such pains when going out in cold winds.massage the area with luke warm almond oil preferabley or give slight compressions of hot water bag.The pain will decease soon .

Yes the reason is due to presure of impact causing your neck to go into shock the pain will ease within a few days to reduce pain and tensness. their is oils, creams and painkillers which will help . Hope you get better soon.
