If youd call someone "hon" "dear", is that a sign that youre attracted to the person?

Ive got a male friend who calls me "hon", "dear". I like him a lot and told him about my feelings but I got rejected even though he tells me I'm the best girl he's ever met and that I'm really pretty. Would you consider being called "hon" "dear" as a sign that he is actually attracted to me?

Not necessarily.  I met a man who called all of his female friends/aquaintences darlin' or hon.  When he called me that, I thought he might be flirting, but later he told me he says that to all girls. That way in bars he doesn't have to remember names...

yes definately dear is used when someone is realy close to u.and when someone is close to u it means he or she is attracted towards you.it has happened with me.so best of luck dear someone is attracted towards you.....

I think it depends on the person. I'm from California & the term "dear" would be more casual or a kind jesture. But, I've met someone from Alabama & he's definitely crazy about me and calls me "dear" or "babe" & even "little woman" which seems very different for me, but for him it means he likes me for more than just a friend.
