My boyfriend of over a year is having his birthday in about a month, and I was wanting to buy him a nice straight razor shaving kit, as he has mentioned wanting to get one someday. They are expensive, but I am willing to pay the price.
The problem is, I am not sure that he will be able to use / enjoy using a straight razor kit because he has a considerable amount of acne on his face.
He says that he does not like using regular razors for this reason, but maybe a straight razor would be better for this? I have no idea, I hope someone out there has had experience with this and can help. Thanks :)
Do you have first hand experience or know someone who has? I have heard so many mixed reviews on the subject. Some say it is a preferred method of wet shaving for those with acne because it is easier to keep sanitary and that it's just a matter of practice. But at the same time I could see it being a disaster..... all I know is that he pretty much cannot use a regular razor because the multiple blades tear him up and are harder to keep clean, so he usually just uses an electric shaver, but sometimes he needs to shave closer. Oh dilemma.
I really should just talk to him about it more.... but I'm really big on the whole surprise aspect of gifts, and I wanna get him something nice :(
