When was ghost ship written?

The 2002 film Ghost Ship was written by Mark Hanlon and John Pogue. Hanlon wrote the original script in 1996, and Pogue was brought on board in 2001 to polish it. The film was directed by Steve Beck and stars Gabriel Byrne, Julianna Margulies, Ron Eldard, Desmond Harrington, and Isaiah Washington.
