Because it's creative expression. In the same way you choose what colour to paint with and how strongly, you choose what note to play and how long for. Either way, you are using your talent to make something pleasing.

If we define art is a creative way of expressing our self and music as we all know is a creative way of making sounds that has lyrics that express the singer and the composers and putting a good melody to it that express their personality in short music is art because of its creative way of expressing our self

Hi,

music, to me is about the individual expression of our feelings, of our heart and soul, or perhaps expressing a part of who you are. Imagine if music was swirling around you and each single note was a colour that connected to some part of the final piece and that piece is part of a wider picture, you're creating something that has never existed before and it will never exist in exactly the same way again.

i am an artist in the traditional way of painting and every time i complete a picture i know that it will be the only one of its kind because i could never have those exact brush strokes or the same colours or light or shading no matter how hard I tired, and i love that because it means i have created something unique and itll never be exactly like anything else. Think of music like this... No two voices are exactly alike, because no two people are, and we all create our own music and hear music differently just like viewing a painting but instead of viewing with our eyes we listen.

that's why I think music is an art form in every sense of the word
