My project was about how to measure the density of teas using photo-resistors, and I explained how it can be translated to other aspects of science. However, the three judges were too unqualified to understand my project, and were unable to understand very basic physics concepts (considering they were volunteer parents). They didn't ask any questions in the end either, which made me feel horrible. Moving on, a project relating to social science (fruit juice flavors and society) got moved to regionals. I was wondering if this is just me or are unqualified people snatching opportunities from deserving people?
