The purpose of the question is the republicans are talking as if the military consist of all US citizens. this is ignoring the contributions of immigrants who are not citizens.

To be perfectly honest i didnt think the military allowed immigrants. My question to you is if they wanted to come live here and wanted to put their lives on the line fighting for this country by joining the military then why arent they American citizens? If our country is being that good to them then why are they not a full on citizen?
When I taught in the Air Force, one of the teachers was a French citizen. He got a draft notice in the mail from the French army. He did not report to be drafted. Four years later he got a discharge notice in the mail.
