Prayer is the way we talk to our creator, however when we talk to him he also talks back through His letters, in "The Bible". John 17:3 says, we need to take in knowlege about God and His son Jesus Christ. When we become friends with someone we enjoy talking with them as much as we can, no one tells us how many times to talk to them or when. I hope this answered your question.
