I got a sony legato linear AT AX-44 , bought as second hand from danemark, it is a solid state transistior amplifier that seems to be produced in 83 , i got a little bit of problem with it , there are 4, chanels paired in 2 sets A and B . when i turn on the amp , as the volume is slowly increasing (amp does this by itselt in order to detect errors from low current levels) the satelites are popping like "pop pop pop pop" , one higher volume level = one pop. I admit that the amp is nkt having special slots for subs , just 4 channels for satelites, and my satelites have their own subwoofers. Ok, so I started the amp ,pluged in my phone and started a track , in the channel set A , the left channel is creating only some vents sound and the right one slight amount of the music I play on my phone . I got so scared about that the problem might be caused by the Condensers that I didn't even tried to test the channel set B. Now I must admit that : - my speakers (a set of Fisher 5000 STE) are in the best condition of functionality
- the wattage and ohms specifications are 100% the same with my amp
- speakers are not blown up and my phone's jack output slot is in perfect condition also
- I never overheated the amp , always stopped it if it went higher than 50 ° C , or something like that, usually my laptop gets even hotter
- This problem apeared step by step, it worked perfectly, then after 5 moths of usage the left channel from set A started to distort the souns a little bit. First i restarted my amp and anything went back to normal. After a while of ussage , with the absence of this problem ever again , something similar to the state i am in now happened , so i closed the amp and let it unstarted for 2 hours then anything normal again. So it went for 1 month , no more problems, then I let it unplugged from the current for 2 weeks , then plugged it back in , and the situation above hapened exactly as described happened. Since then I never got to listen to music using the amp anymore.

It's been 3 weeks starting by today, since my living room is not filled with bass anymore and it feels sad when I think about the greatness of my 100 wats speakers and that Sony amp. Please help me , I really want to bring it back to life.
