I am a apartment resident in California , within Fresno county . my question is , is it legal for my apartment manager the ban my friends and threaten to evict me . when I was not apart of what happened and they were not on property . my friends were walking down the street arguing . They were not even going to my place . and he didn't like hearing they personal argument . so he treated to evict me and said they were banned . is that illegal . do i have the right to sue . and do i have the right to still have my friends over ? And the street I live on is a main street in my town . they were walking to the park hand happened to pass by on the sidewalk . when the were arguing. What should I do ?

It sounds like he was looking for a reason to evict you so he's using that as a reason to do it so many apartment owners or managers have problems that end like this manager doing what he said he would do he didn't have a right to say that sense it wasn't on the apt property do you have any ongoing problems with the manager at this point any complaints you think he might have against you? I would make a complaint to the owner sense this guy is only a manager if he evicts you can counter file against him I would speak to a attorney to protect your rights is there anything wrong with your apartment that he hasn't fixed? You might have him on that.
