I was unable to go through with the purchase. I was told I can't have any of it back! Should I be able to get some back? It just seems a little excessive.

Did they ask you if you had a deposit to put down on the tires? Sometimes they put in the small print about deposits. But they should have told you if they were going to take the money if you weren't advised of it they can't take the money sounds a little Leary to me anyway you should write the better business bureau also call the corporate office of that business and talk to them about a refund. Did you get any paper work from them?
