So I use to work at a store called Safeway, and there were some things I've been thinking back on that bothered me, so I worked front end, and occasionally had to clean up spills, etc, when I was notified of one, my first few days there I got notified of a MASSIVE spill, like no joke, they really over exaggerated it, and said they could get in big trouble for it, so they told me what aisle it was on and i went to look for it, upon entering the aisle all i saw was a warning cone set up, alerting customers of a slippery surface, but..when I looked closer, I didn't see anything wrong other than a small splash of water on the floor, underneath the corner, it was so tiny i immediately walked back thinking someone already cleaned it up, so a person in charge comes up to me and yells at me to go clean it up and that I need to do my job, so I go to the cleaning closet, grab some towels and wipe it up, but I always wondered if that was really the right spill..or if they just over exaggerated the matter, because I had another issue happen shortly after, I was working with a cashier, bagging groceries and she said there was a nasty spill at the end of her aisle, so I go back and all I see is a small splash of what looked like coffee powder, just laying on the floor, it didn't look like what she described so I never got to it, instead I continued walking to the end of the store and back until I found something and never found anything, so I pretended like I cleaned something and returned, afterwards she thanked me, I think sarcastically. So I guess what I'm wondering is, are spills greatly over exaggerated at grocery stores? Or did I just have some odd people I was working for.
