if you can get an opportunity to ride a board first I would do that. Ask a family member if you have one who has it, or ask a skate shop for a test ride. If you like skateboarding then buy one.
If you don't I would save your money, an iphone while exciting at first, will quickly become another dated piece of technology that is no fun.
