The Founding Fathers were adamant that their new system of government should ensure equality.?

However, only about 21 percent of the population was made up of White males over the age of 16, and less than 6 percent were White males over the age of 21 who owned property (and as such could fully participate in the new system). As such, in practice there was a great deal of inequality. How did the Founders justify these contradictions?
