What if a buyer returns an item without eBay or seller knowing?

A buyer returned an item 21 days after they had received it yet did not inform paypal, ebay or seller (no tracking # no return process through ebay). Seller agreed to refund and waited 2 weeks and heard nothing. eBay states the buyer has 6 days to return after agreement to refund.  I am the buyer. What are my rights?  I returned an item and seller is saying they never got it. Will ebay step in and help?

well when you don't let someone know why you returned something without the proper paperwork the person that it belonged to in the first place they have to be able to track it down if there wasn't any paperwork with it might have went to the wrong person i'm sure that ebay will help track it down

Since there was no tracking for the returned item, you are not entitled to a refund.  Both PayPal and eBay requires tracking as proof of return.  However, it is not a total loss; you got an education.
