Why does the g major and e minor chord on ukulele sounds pretty much the same?

The G major chord consists of G B D and G.
The E minor chord consists of E G B and E.
Youre playing the G and B in both chords, so they probably do sound similar. You probably just need to bring out the D in the first chord and the E in the second more.
