i am 13 years old and have read all the books by rick riordan. i was wonderng if the gods in the greek mythology where real. i am creative, wise, inventive, and have a "powerfull" voice. ifu think the greek gods were real please say who ur godly parent is or who mine might be
Since it's mythologhy people say the topic is made up, but what I think is that it's all what the individual person thinks. If they're a believer and they believe that Greek Gods are real, then they could be real. Non-believer's will think otherwise. It all depends on the person. Personaly I am a believer so I believe that there are gods, vampire's, ghosts stuff like that but others will just think they're fake. I think that you are like..... Metis ( Athena's mother). She is creative and wise
I hate to say it, but no they are not real. The Greek people long ago believed that there were gods above them for different things, so when there was a drought for example, they would sacrifice things to the Greek god , Poseidon, the god of water so that he would give them water. Surprisingly, they did get water but not from any of the Greek gods.
I admit it would be rather interesting if the greek gods were real but their religion died out thousands of years ago, which means that, judging from the attitudes of the gods in all the greek literature i have studied (a levels) we would all be dead! If people in greek literature did not believe in the Gods, Zeus would punish them in horrible and violent ways, because of their hubristic actions (hubris is the opposite of piety). The greek god of creativity and wisdom is Athene if that cheers you up, but I think you'll have to come to the conclusion that the greek gods aren't real. But if you're really interested in them i really reccomend doing Classical Civilisation for A levels because it is really interesting and there is a lot about the gods in the course.
I do classical studies at university. In essence, it probably depends what time you're thinking of. Whoever composed the Iliad and Odyssey (there's a lot of debate whether Homer was a real person or not) in the 6th century bc wrote of an 'age of heroes' where the gods walked the earth. Writings later than that, like Herodotus, Thuycidides etc. do not speak of the gods as people they've interacted with. Perhaps they were real people who did amazing things and who's legends grew to god status in later years, or maybe other people just made it up. There's suggestions out there that the Greek gods are just advances of the Egyptian gods, or Norse gods, or basically earlier gods, so maybe they were real instead.
I'd be a Titan, they were way cooler, probably Phoebe because she had an awesome legacy and I'd like one of those. Perhaps your mother was Aphrodite, she had a voice that 'eased the mind' or maybe Athena who was wise, or Hera who was crafty/inventive. They were all cool tbh.
I believe the greek gods are real. I am adopted don't know my birth parents.I believe the gods and goddesses are real because they have so much morals and values and meanings to America. Western Civilization honors them even to this day. They build temples to them and D. C. have building modeled after the greeks.
