My brother says video games make people smart but what ive hard if you play way to many you can become blind. Can you tell me,can video games make you smarter or ca video games make you blind?
Some games are actually very educational: at primary school I was completely rubbish at Geography and History (grade 3-4 in final year), but then I got into the Assassin's Creed series and after 1 term at secondary school I was getting like grade 6s and people now consider me the top in the class (whereas I used to be at the bottom). Also as an extra I learned some Italian.
Hope this helps!
Yes this is true that playing games on computer will harm your eyes. But it will not make you blind.
Taking precautions like setting the contrast and brightness of the monitor will not affect the eyes and also you should sit away at least 30 cm away from monitor.
Playing is a good exercise on computer but simultaneously you should play the outdoors
Gaming also allows you to lean have strategic plans, getting knowledge, getting a grip on language.
Myself I learned many things just playing a small game in my childhood when I was 5.
No, check out this link http://www.livescience.com/1382-study-playing-video-games-improves-eyesight.html
Video games can't make you go blind. They can hurt your eyesight and you might have to wear glasses like most of the older games that have been doing it for their entire life. Video games can make you smarter because they can teach you things that you may not think of. I have been gaming for my entire life and have had no eyesight problems.
I can tell you this, I play Xbox more than the average person, I play more than (12 hours a day, 7 days a week) and I have for the last 4 years, last time I had my eyes tested they were perfectly fine, I have learned more from video games than I ever did in school, games like (GTA5, Minecraft, Racing games .etc) there are gamer's on YouTube that make a lot of money these days, next time someone says that say that gaming doesn't educate you, just tell them this isn't the 80s anymore conloles are more advanced now. Last but not least ask them to try our generation gaming they won't be able to control it, which prove children/teens are more educated than their parents in something.
it really depends on the game, for instance, i played a few ww2 games in the past and i've learned a lot. Also, you only go blind if u are to close to the tv screen and if u play games for a long time without stopping, im not sure if that is true however because if that where the case, i would be blind right now, but i have decent vision at the moment so.
As long as you don't play too much and limit yourself you should be fine. playing games can damage your eyes and cause irritation. try to stay a good distance ( 4-5 feet from the screen if small and (6-10 feet if the screen in larger. don't play for longer than 2 hours a day. Blink rapidly every few seconds because when concentration on screen, you loose moisture very quickly and blink less. look away from the screen every 30 minutes and concentrate on a far away (preferably green object) for thirty seconds. It doesn't make your eyesight worse, but straining ti too much can. It just makes your eyes extremely irritated and tired but try to not play too much because the rays from the screen can hurt you. You can also see color differences and changes afterward ( this happened to me) basically temporary colorblindness for a few seconds.
