... spot. Contract states upon returning, "Employee will return to their former department, (and bump the newest guy out)" Could that be interperated as the Employee needs to go back to department A?
In this case, what is defined as former department?

For some reason it cut out the first sentence. In this case, a person moves from department A to department B. Then goes out on a leave long enough to have their spot filled.
