I am a young writer and I like to have a list of names to choose from when I am starting a new story. I have trouble coming up with last names that sound good with the first names.
Do you think you could give me a list of last names to help me with my writing?
Try the app, "Name Dice," it randomly generates names. (Yay!)
In the meantime heres a few for you:
Silver
Williams
Cortez
Corr
Richards
Bear
Fish
Basically I look around my room and find objects that work, e.g. if I see a bag, it might work, but John Bag doesn't look that good, so I might change it to Bagg. Adding an "S" also helps sometimes I find, Baggs. So John Bag is now John Baggs.
First names work for last names too. E.g. Grace, Michael. There are two names for you now, Grace Michael and Michael Grace, e.t.c.
I used that app that you suggested for a while, but I managed to get bored with the same surnames over and over again. Maybe you could suggest another app? By the way, your theory of looking around your room for random objects and coming up with a name from that is a very good theory, but I doubt I could come up with anything creative enough from a tv and stuffed animals and a bed or a table to come up with a last name.
(I'm sorry if this didn't make any sense. I'm usually not very good at that either.)
If you need Ideas back in the ancient Times your surname was your job (I.E) if you were a carpenter your surname would be (OC) carpenter
or you could put random sounds together
