A guy at my school said he had 2 black belts in a martial art (the exact one escapes me now).
I just wanted to know if this is true or not.
Is it possible to have 2 black belts in a single martial art?

No, it's not possible unless he is making a distinction between different schools of one martial art. For example, Karate has various schools and it is possible to have a black belt from one school (or type of karate) and one from another school.
If he'd told me that though I'd have assumed he was talking out of his a*se as no one who actually had two black belts would make such a crass comment. It's like a guy saying "Yeah, I've got two pilots licenses.", No pilot says that, they say, "I'm a pilot, I'm qualified on the Cessna 120 and the 280." See what I mean...?
