I am an English learner and I've just started reading Forrest Gump. If someone who has read Forrest Gump, please tell me this sentence's definition by different words.

It can be difficult to interpret vernacular speech. Vernacular means "the way we talk, not the way we write". There are small groups of people whose speech puzzles even other Americans.
"I reckon" - I figure
"I done live" - I have lived
"a pretty interestin life" - a fairly interesting life
Thank you for your great explanation. I had never thought about vernacular speech, so your answer was very interesting and helpful for me.
